opinionated????? who me?

You can't please all the people all the time I suppose, I never thought I would cause so much anger over a hawthorn tree??

The legend is that Joseph of Armithea visited Glastonbury to spread the gospel. He planted his staff in the earth and it began to sprout. Today it's known as the Holy Thorn?! and hundreds of people come to visit it every year....

But according to the keeper, it's not even the original, since it has been replanted a few times, to answer about the tree sprouting from the staff of Joseph , it wasnt this tree, this was a replacement planted, the original was chopped down by Cromwellian forces during the english civil war.but it's still a tree, nothing more, and worshipping anything else in place of God is just idol worship. When you consider all the pompous ceremony around taking sacred cuttings from it to give to the queen each year it screams sacred cow to me.

Christianity is not about Ancient Traditions, Church buildings, graveyards, holy sites, rituals,Sundays or tree's. Its about what you do every day in the name of God, and trying never to do anything that would make him mad at you. Its about being the very best you can be, every day , and thanking God, not your own inflated sense of self importance, for the things that benifit you. Its essentialy about having a real relationship with God. If people need a tree to do that for them, then they arent doing it right in my opinion.

For having this view I have just been called opinionated small minded????

Ok so you don't agree with me, thats fine, I never asked you to. I never cease to be amazed at how so called brothers and sisters in Christ can be so hurtful to each other, they are obviously not in the right place, because true brothers and sisters would see through our faults and see us for the people we are.

God never used perfect people (except for Jesus of course) to carry out his will, in fact..

Jacob was a liar, Genesis 27:19
Leah was considered ugly, Genesis 29:17
Joseph was abused, Genesis 37:24-36
Moses stuttered, Exodus 4:10
Gideon was afraid, Judges 6:21-23

Samson had long hair and was a womanizer, Judges 14

David had an affair and was a murderer, 2Samuel 11:3-27

Jesus loved them all, so let’s stop pointing out each other’s faults and instead put the effort into giving God the glory for what he has done for us instead.
